EMTs and Paramedics employed by American
Medical Response (AMR) voted down a contract
that they felt did not go far enough to
improve wages and benefits. Currently,
entry-level EMTs make only $8.45 per hour
and entry-level Paramedics are paid only
$9.70 per hour. Because they are paid such
low wages, 70% of AMR EMTs and Paramedics
qualify for Section 8, the federal housing
program for low-income individuals.
Now the EMTs and Paramedics are ready to go
back to the bargaining table to get the
wages and benefits they deserve. Please
