EMTs and Paramedics employed by American Medical Response (AMR) voted down a contract that they felt did not go far enough to improve wages and benefits.  Currently, entry-level EMTs make only $8.45 per hour and entry-level Paramedics are paid only $9.70 per hour.  Because they are paid such low wages, 70% of AMR EMTs and Paramedics qualify for Section 8, the federal housing program for low-income individuals.

 

Now the EMTs and Paramedics are ready to go back to the bargaining table to get the wages and benefits they deserve.  Please come to support the life savers of our community by joining them at the rally:
