2011 CONTRACT VOTE

Dear Albertsons, Ralphs and Vons Members:

             Negotiations on your new contract have been delayed for too long.  More than 8 months have passed since we first sent our opening letters to your employers requesting that negotiations commence.  The unions have constantly expressed our willingness and desire to meet daily in order to reach a settlement we can recommend to you.  Unfortunately, management has continually delayed and in fact over the past 25 days, management has only made themselves available for a total of 2 days.  You deserve better.

             These constant delays are unacceptable.  The money available to pay your benefits gets lower by the day and is now at a critical point.  We must bring these negotiations to a conclusion and have scheduled meetings to vote on whatever offer is on the table.  This will be a vote to either accept or reject and authorize a strike.

             The voting is scheduled as follows:

                         When:              Friday, August 19, 2011

                         Time:               Meetings at 7:30 A.M.  OR  5:30 P.M.

                                                All day walk-thru voting from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
